Injured on the Job

I was waiting for my last kindergarten class of the day in their classroom when they returned from music class. They all proceeded to go to the carpet per our normal routine, but one kid stopped the line by approaching me and saying “Um, I don’t think I can do all this today ’cause I got this.” As he said “this” he pointed to a bandaid on the top of his wrist that revealed a little blood through the bandaid.

Since my class does not involve contact sports, I told him “Oh, you’re gonna do it, my friend!”  That motherly teacher who coddles students for little injuries? I am not her.
